City First Bank of DC is a mission driven, federally chartered, community development bank. We are dedicated to strengthening underserved communities in Washington, DC helping them to grow and prosper by providing high quality banking and financial services.

In the 17 years since City First began operations, the bank has financed over 5,700 units of affordable housing, created or retained over 4,368 jobs that built the capacity of nonprofits and small businesses, and helped to create more than 8,734 additional new DC public charter school seats to fulfill growing student demand.

As of December 31, 2014 City First Bank holds assets of $241 million, deposits of $191 million and loans of $171 million, and historically delivering over 80% of business loans to low wealth communities, fulfilling our community development mission.

City First Bank is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the CDFI Fund of the U.S. Department of Treasury and has won six rounds of authority under the New Markets Tax Credit Program (NMTC Program) totaling $418 million to date.
