John Driver is a Chief Executive Officer and Lead Independent Director with broad boardroom and executive leadership experience spanning technology, financial services, and energy. He brings expertise in corporate strategy, M&A, global operations, risk oversight, and corporate governance.
Mr. Driver is Lead Independent Director at Broadway Financial Corporation and City First Bank (NASDAQ: BYFC), where he chairs the Risk & Compliance Committee and has served on the Audit, Compensation and Nominating & Governance Committees. He was formerly an Independent Director at Vital Energy, Inc. (NYSE: VTLE), serving on the Audit, Compensation, and Finance Committees, including oversight of a $3B+ public-to-public merger.
He is CEO of Lynx Technology, a smart home IoT and digital media software company he founded through a management buyout from an NTT DOCOMO subsidiary. He led the acquisition of global Connected Home operations across North America, Europe, and Japan, including the Twonky™ media platform. Under his leadership, Lynx operated as a profitable global business, with its software deployed in tens of millions of consumer electronics devices worldwide.
He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of PacketVideo, where he led global operations across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Serena Software and Sun Microsystems.
He is President of the NACD Pacific Southwest Chapter and Chair of the Board of 50/50 Women on Boards and has previously served as Board Chair of the Fleet Science Center and the Stanford Associates Board of Governors. He mentors aspiring directors through board readiness programs. He holds NACD Directorship and Cybersecurity Oversight Certifications, has completed OCC bank board training and is on the Faculty of the NACD Board Advisory Service (BAS). He is a frequent speaker on corporate governance and risk oversight.
Mr. Driver is a 2026 NACD Directorship 100 honoree and a finalist for NACD’s 2026 Not-for-Profit Director of the Year. He is also a recipient of a Director of the Year Award from the Corporate Directors Forum, a Directors to Watch Award from Directors & Boards Magazine, and the Stanford University Governors’ Award for leadership and service. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
